Diageo launches English gin with Japenese twist

Diageo's 'Show Your Spirit' competition invited bartenders to enter their 'dream liquid' that they would like to see made into a new Diageo Reserve product. The winne, created by 24 year-old Bristol bartender, was Jinzu - a mix of classic gin and Japenese botanicals with the addition of sake. Botanicals include juniper berries, coriander, angelica, yuzu citrus fruit and Japenese cherry blossom, which are blended with distilled Junmai sake to add a smooth finish. Named after the Japenese Jinzu River, which is lined with cherry trees, Jinzu is presented in a bottle with a cherry blossom branch imprint. It will now sit alongside Tanqueray 10 as a super-premium offering.
