Diageo's World Class Bartender of the Year competition takes its multi-sensory process very seriously! During the 3-day final, 11 bartenders had to do the following: wear fake moustaches and drink out of teacups; use savoury and sweet ingredients - ranging from Indian grass to hundreds and thousands; and source quirky vessels for glassware. The UK winner for 2016 was Aidan Bowie of Dandelyan, the Mondrian hotel's cocktail bar on the Southbank in London, who created a Woodland Martini with Tanqueray 10 served in a plant pot.
