Distilleries open for business - and open to offers

Latest HMRC figures show 56 new distilleries opened their doors in 2015, reflecting our thirst for gin and the love of a good story. The detail says 28 are in England, 12 in Scotland, 10 in Northern Ireland, and 6 are in Wales. And it's not just consumers on the gin trail. Watch out for the industry big guns keeping their eye on what's trending - this year saw takeovers of Monkey 47 and Edinburgh Gin. And with gin sales in the on and off trade breaking the £1 billion barrier six months earlier than forecast, it's all to play for.
