You've heard of gin made with hops - but beer made with gin? In a world first, Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston, Texas - the state's oldest craft brewers - is releasing a new barrel-aged IPA which has been aged for five months in gin barrels sourced from Smooth Ambler Spirits craft distillery. The 10.4% ABV offering, named Bishop's Barrel No 11, is brewed with Pale, Two Row and Caramel malts with Columbus, Simcoe and Centennial hops, which is complemented by the gin barrel's juniper notes. Initially the limited edition will launch only in Texas and Louisiana.
