Thomas Dakin Gin is a classic juniper-forward style whose namesake created the world's first quality English gin and founded the world's oldest gin distillery in 1761. While the new gin is currently being distilled in Warrington (by G&J Distillers), Thomas Dakin Distillers plan to distil it in Manchester when their new distillery is built. It contains 11 botanicals, including the unusual addition of red cole, a root botanical used in the 18th century and today known as horseradish. This gives a smooth, savoury finish. It costs £29 for 70cl and has an ABV of 42%.
